What He Said...
Do men really care about chipped nail polish?
The typical laws of attraction will have us to believe that first impressions make a lasting impression, and men notice everything. A woman with unkempt nail beds tells a story of an unclean woman…so she said. Chipped nail polish is a clear indication that a woman’s life is out of order…so she said. Men pay close attention to whether or not your nail and toe color match…so she said.
This is what we have heard time and time again, but that’s what she said (mother, sisters, aunts, girlfriends), studies have shown that “he” didn’t really think that at all.
So what did he say?
Men’s Health Magazine surveyed 50 men of different statures and found astonishing results. Contrary to what women “think” men care about, they are off the marker when it comes to physical rating. In fact, the top 50 things that men wished that women knew had less to do with their physicality and more about their confidence.
That’s right, clean and neatly polished nails are low on their totem pole. It actually fell behind viewing shopping as a chore and less of an activity (#6) and their love for ponytails (#33).
Does this change the way you view your expenditures and freshly manicured nails? I doubt it.
As women, we feel most confident when we are pampered. A much needed blowout, relaxing facial, and fresh manicure/pedicure are what we need to make us feel confident. And for that I say…neatly, polished nails are a necessity.
But that's just what I said.
